According to Williams, doctors urged him to wait until October 10, 2016, to return to work, but his employers terminated his employment on October 5, 2016, 5 days before he was due to return. His employers feared he would file a workers’ compensation claim, something that, by law, he was legally able to do.
Now, Williams is seeking damages for lost income and mental anguish suffered after being wrongfully fired for doing nothing wrong. He is being represented in court by one of our skilled attorneys, Justin M. Chopin, of The Chopin Law Firm LLC. The case has been assigned to Division P Judge Lee V. Faulkner Jr. of the 24th Judicial District Court.
